WEEK 6

 Bluetooth Module (HC-05)

Bluetooth serial module is used for converting serial port to Bluetooth. These modules have two modes: master and slaver device. The device named after even number is defined to be master or slaver when out of factory and can’t be changed to the other mode. But for the device named after odd number, users can set the work mode (master or slaver) of the device by AT commands.

When HC-05 is out of factory, one part of parameters is set for activating the device. The work mode is not set, since user can set the mode of HC-05 as they want.

The main function of Bluetooth serial module is replacing the serial port line, such as:

1.      There are two MCUs want to communicate with each other. One connects to Bluetooth master device while the other one connects to slave device. Their connection can be built once the pair is made. This Bluetooth connection is equivalently liked to a serial port line connection including RXD, TXD signals and they can use the Bluetooth serial module to communicate with each other.

2.      When MCU has Bluetooth slave module, it can communicate with Bluetooth adapter of computers and smart phones. Then there is a virtual communicable serial port line between MCU and computer or smart phone.

3.      The Bluetooth devices in the market mostly are slave devices, such as Bluetooth printer, Bluetooth GPS. So, we can use master module to make pair and communicate with them. Bluetooth Serial module’s operation doesn’t need drive, and can communicate with the other Bluetooth device which has the serial.

But communication between two Bluetooth modules requires at least two conditions:

Ø  The communication must be between master and slave.

Ø  The password must be correct.

WEEK 6

BLOCK DIAGRAM OF PROJECT 

This project consist with smartphone as a tool or remove to turn on the solenoid for open the door or gate and to turn on motor and led lamp. First of all turn on the bluetooth of smartphone and paring with some bluetooth device of project. After that send information or some code to start the operation of output by pic circuit will process and simulate the data and trigger relay to start the operation of ouput

WEEK 5

FLOW CHART

For this week, i had meet with advisor to discuss about my project flow chart. Madam Hidayah was give some idea how to make flow chart according from the introduction that i propose at week 4. First of all i have done some flow chart before meet with Madam Hidayah and my flow chart is at the figure above. After discussion with my advisor, Madam Hidayah was advise me to make flow chart focus more to my project title and the result of my flow chart after discuss with my advisor at the figure below:

This is my flow chart after discussion, you can see that the flow chart is focus more to the title of project which  is "Development of Accessible Remote-Control for Automation Level Crossing Gate"

WEEK 4

INTRODUCTION ABOUT PROJECT

Due to the advances in Smartphone features and its low cost, the Smartphone has become one of the most commonly used in handheld devices. Smartphone of nowadays offer many features and applications. However many of the applications are only for entertainment purpose. Due to the popularity of Smartphone and the features they offer, these devices can be used in many other ways.

            One way is developing the Android application for Smartphone to control the operation of accessible sensing system using Bluetooth. When discus about security is very important nowadays and it will be more helpful if this feature can be added in the Smartphone to access and control the system at our property. It will provide a new concept and idea to the Smartphone application developers. Considering these factors this project decided to implement the Android application in Smartphone for “"Development of Accessible Remote-Control for Automation Level Crossing Gate"

           "Development of Accessible Remote-Control for Automation Level Crossing Gate" will allow user to access their property by Smartphone using Bluetooth and with this application also user can control the lighting and fan system in their property. This project will increase the security system and make life become easier to user because of the technological developments.

WEEK 3

SUBMIT DRAFT PROPOSAL

In this week i was submit my draft proposal to Madam for confirmation about my project and Madam was given some advise for my project to be done how to improve about my project

WEEK 2

PROJECT TITLE OF FYP

In week 2, I had discussion with my advisor, Madam Noor Hidayah Bt Mohd Yunus about my project title which is "HOME SYSTEM USING SMART PHONE". The idea about my project was accept by Madam but I as Electrical student, Madam suggest my title have to change and than Madam was come out with new suitable name for my project which is "Development of Accessible Remote-Control for Automation Level Crossing Gate"

WEEK1

FINAL YEAR PROJECT BRIEFING

The first FYP briefing was held at Dewan Gemilang on this week, we were being brief ted by FYP coordinator about the methods and the flow of FYP 1 for this semester and the FYP 2 on the next semester. The main agenda during the final year project briefing are about to how to complete the FYP, the dateline of the title to be submit and advisor selection.
