FYP2 WEEK 14

Title: Preparation for Industry Day and Print poster

-         1)Test again the whole project system to make sure everything runs smoothly.
-         2)Study all the components function that related with the project.
3)Provide some examples of questions that will be asked by the assessors
-        4)Size of poster required is A1 measurement

-        5)The cost of printing is RM25

FYP2 WEEK 13

Title: Create a poster

  • -       Create a poster by using Microsoft Word version 2013
  • -       Size of poster required is A1 measurement
  • -       The figure below shows the poster that I have done.

FYP2 WEEK 12

Title: Make list of poster requirements

Before making a poster, I have seen some examples of posters available at FYP room to get the idea. Most of the posters in the room belongs to students who have taken the course of FYP.
The poster will include some of this requirements with explanation:
-       Project Title
-       Student’s name
-       University
-       Supervisor’s name

-       Abstract
·     Mobile devices have been integrated into our everyday life. Consequently, home automation and security are becoming increasingly prominent features on mobile devices. In this project, security system had been developed that interfaces with an Android mobile device. The mobile device and security system communicate via Bluetooth because a short-range-only communications system was desired. The mobile application can be loaded onto any compatible device, and once loaded, interface with the security system. Moreover, it is shown that Android Smartphone can provide a platform to implement Bluetooth-based application for Gate Locks System.

-       Objectives
·         To implement keyless entry using smartphone
·         To replaces cables for most device and peripheral interconnections.
·         To reduce uses of power signals since Bluetooth technology requires little energy and will therefore use less battery or electrical power.

-       Methodology
-       Diagram
-       Results
-       Conclusion
·         As a conclusion, the whole system works very well which includes the transmit data from Android phone to PIC Micro controller via Bluetooth Module. The output of push and pull solenoid also is functioning well as it offers a very high holding force at a comparably low power input. Throughout the project, all the objectives were successfully fulfilled.

FYP2 WEEK 11

Title: Maintenance and testing

  • PROCEDURE
  •   Place the DPDT Relay, relay connection circuit, and PIC circuit on the surface of black perspective board to ensure that all organized and neat.
  •  CD-ROM is placed in front  of the house t to demonstrate the real gate lock system which placed on every household.
  • Bluetooth Module circuit is mounted on a wall of cardboard using double-sided tape.
  •  After all the circuits are organized, testing the whole system to see the output is functioning. The output will be a solenoid.
  •  Open up an Android application on the smartphone, make a pairing and send command A. If the circuit is functioning the gatw will be unlocked and close after receive command B.
  • After first testing is done, next the battery supply of 12 volts is used to see whether the connection of circuit is functioning or not if there is any power failure occur.
  • On DPDT relay, there are two wire of positive and negative that is used to connect with battery supply. Red wire is connected to the positive pole and black wire is connected to the negative pole.
  • Next, unplug both of the adaptor and we can see that the circuit is still functioning because there is an alternative supply by using battery.
  •  Overall, the system runs smoothly after placing all the circuit into the house model to make one working system although there is some minor error during testing.

FYP2 WEEK 10

Title: Make modifications to the house model

The modifications are:
-Draw windows to make it like a real house
        -Create a door
        -Modified on the roof
-Make the gate model and also the floor of model
-Placed a display stand of card holder at the front of the house model to show the title

FYP2 WEEK 9

Title: Create a model of Fyp Project

Steps of making house model
·         Find some examples of house model on the internet using color cardboard.
·         The concept of the house will be in white and blue theme to make it more             attractive.
·         Buy the materials needed at bookstore
·         Firstly, design a wall for the front and the back of the house
·         Attached Velcro so that the wall can be opened up to see the interior side
·         Make a base
·         Lastly, make a roof and the roof is removable.
